Personalised Therapy – Because one size does not fit all!

During times of stress and worry, and Christmas can certainly bring this on us, it can often be important to seek help and support. For some matters, this can be very clear and easily understandable.

For other matters, matters of a more emotional and personal nature, it might not be so very clear. Indeed, it can be rather more muddled, especially if in our lives we have been subject to experiences that have left us with fear, worry, uncertainty, little or no confidence in ourselves or our abilities, or we have bene given a psychiatric label.

Add to this the fact that it can be so difficult to know where to turn to.

If medication and referrals to group therapy is not for you (via the NHS), then private therapy might be a more suitable option.

During my time working in NHS acute psychiatric nursing, I witnessed so many people arriving in crisis, leaving when not so much in crisis, only for crisis to repeat when proper support wasn’t there. I asked about the support and help available, and was so often told ‘there is none’. I determined to be of some help, to be a place to which people can go for support.

I am honoured to have been able to help so many people over many years in private practice as a counsellor/psychotherapist. I work holistically, offering combinations of a variety of useful approaches according to need. These might include NLP, CBT, hypnotherapy, solution focused therapy – these are just a few. After all, why restrict yourself to only CBT when you can have a choice according to what suits you better.

Not only am I able to work from the professional chair, backed by my qualifications and membership of the National Council of Psychotherapists and Ayanay Psychological Accreditation, but I have also sat in the client chair – PTSD from severe assault and a separate road traffic incident (where in both I saw the Grim Reaper…) Recovery is not only possible in theory, but I know it is from experience. Serving in the military also brought its own challenges, and prison staffing and rehabilitation work added to my understandings.

Therapy here is by appointment, can be for as long or as short a time as needed, is offered with compassion, confidentiality (as far as law allows), and is set within the quiet countryside allowing for time and space away from the hustle of everyday.

So, if you’ve been told you have depression, anxiety, anger issues, BPD, DID, PTSD or C-PTSD, or any other mental illhealth name, I might be able to help you.

Why not give yourself the gift of looking after Your True Self.
